Preview KVK's – Krishi Vigyan Kendra is a district level institution (Farm Science Centre) engaged in transfer of latest agricultural technologies to the farming community for bridging the gap between production and productivity. It also works through partnership mode with allied departments and agencies. Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Udalguri was established in 2012 under the administrative control of the Assam Agricultural University. The total farm area is 200 bigha located in Lalpool near to the SSB camp. Since inception this KVK has been endeavoring for the upliftment of socio-economic condition of the farming community of Udalguri district through scientific intervention in the agricultural and allied sectors. KVK places a special emphasis on training and education of farmers, entrepreneurs, farm women, rural youth, financial institutions extension functionaries as well as voluntary organizations. KVK has been considered as an innovative and different than other training intuitions/ organizations for its need based and skill oriented training programs with approach of 'learning by doing' and 'teaching by doing'. Assessment of training needs and gaps between the available technology and its application in the field is the prerequisite. For this, farm families' surveys are conducted time to time for deriving the needs of farmers, farm women, farm youth and livestock owners at village level.
