Preview- "Krishi Vigyan Kendra Sitamarhi was established in March 2006 vied ICAR letter No. F.No. 18-29/96-AE – dated 31st March 2006 and actual date of start of KVK is 1st April 2006 by the host institution Samta Seva Kendra, Chainpura, Sitamarhi, Bihar.
This new KVK is located at between 26.120 N latitude, 85.120 East longitude and 85 meter above sea level. This KVK is 35 km away from the district head-quarter on the road of Pupri to Sursand. The village in which KVK is situated is known as Balha Madhusudan. The KVK is having total 32 acres of cultivated land, of which 5 acres of cultivated land is just near to the office and remaining 27 acres of land is 2 km away from the office. The climate of the district is semi-arid to subtropical and average rain fall of the year is 1210 mm. of which about 90 percent of total rainfall of the year is received from South – West monsoon from June to October. April, May and June are the hottest months as daily temperature goes up to a maximum of 40 C while December and January are the coldest months with daily temperature goes minimum to 8 C. The entire district is flood prone which normally comes in the month of June and continues to be till October."
